Mission Statement
The Green Sanctuary Committee seeks to put into practice the Seventh Principle of the UUA: “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” Members work to make the church building more energy efficient and environmentally friendly and to educate the church community on issues of conservation and environmental impact.

Ministry for the Earth Film Series
During the Winter and Spring of 2006, Arlington Street Church hosted its Ministry for the Earth Film Series. The series explores environmental concerns and a discussion follows each film.

For more information about the film series, visit this page.

We are guided by the UUA's Seventh Principle Project and its Green Sanctuary Program, which offers resources and suggestions for creating a sustainable life style for church members as individuals and as a faith community.

We warmly welcome anyone who wants to participate in the activities of the committee. There is no official process for joining the committee: just come to the meetings and work with us!

We usually meet once a month after Sunday services. See the church calendar or send email to green@ascboston.org.

Environment and Energy Forum
Wednesday, December 10th, 6:30 PM, in the Hunnewell Chapel

You are invited to join James Hunt, chief of environmental and energy services for the city of Boston, as he discusses innovative programs and policies that Boston has implemented to protect the environment, reduce energy use, and control greenhouse gas emissions.

This event is co-sponsored by Arlington Street Church’s Green Sanctuary Committee and Boston’s Environmental and Energy Services department. The department’s mission it to preserve and enhance the resources of the city’s built and natural environment; and to promote safe, reliable, affordable, and efficient energy systems. Finding solutions to environmental issues, energy issues, and climate change are of the highest priority to Mayor Menino.
