If you:

  • could use a little inspiration during the week;
  • would enjoy the intimacy of a smaller church service;
  • are busy on weekends,
  • work downtown on weekdays but live elsewhere;
  • are new to Unitarian Universalism or Arlington Street Church and want to “try it out” before coming to a Sunday service;

the Wednesday Gathering could be for you!

You’ll see some familiar elements from Sunday services, including:

  • Prayers of the People—a form of Sunday’s Community Candles of Joy and Sorrow
  • Hymns, songs, and readings—both classic and contemporary sources
  • Silence for meditation or prayer
  • Opportunities for meeting and greeting—before and after the service

Instead of a sermon, each service will center around Prayers for Creative Response. Each month, a volunteer artist (musician, writer, painter, dancer, craftsperson, etc) will share their gifts, with special attention to the intersection between creativity and connection to the divine.

Wednesday Gathering has been organized by the Arlington Street Church Worship Committee, with oversight and support from Senior Minister Kim K. Crawford Harvie.

Note that after each Wednesday Gathering, there is a Kundalini Yoga class offered through the ASCenter for Religious Education. Visit their page on this site for more information.
