“Only a Child” was created by Arlington Street Church member George Leger in 1994 to serve the needs of homeless youth living on the crime- and poverty-ridden streets of Guatemala City.

“Only a Child” now operates a group home offering a surrogate family to former street kids, as well as a carpentry shop that is staffed and managed by the young people in the program. “Only a Child” also offers a variety of educational opportunities to give participants every possible chance to lead productive and meaningful lives.
