The Wednesdays return for their third year with Sex, Power, and Love: Four Shakespeare Plays. A comedy, a “problem” play, a tragedy, and a play that represents the summit of Shakespeare’s accomplishment and thus defies easy classification (a dream play? a fairy tale? a “late” play?), these four plays represent the variety and scope of Shakespeare’s genius while exploring some thorny and related problems of sex, power, and love. We’ll be treated to a smorgasbord of La Condition Humaine, the whole messy, magnificent spectacle of life: magic, passion, suicide, murder, innocence, despair, treason, fidelity, enchantment, hope! All are welcome.
