Sunday, January 13th, 11:00 am Members of the Longwood Symphony perform three concerto masterworks of the Baroque: Albinoni's Oboe Concerto in d minor, and Bach's Brandenburg Concertos No. 4 in G Major and No. 5 in D Major.

From Bach to Broadway, Parts I and IIRodger Vine, Pianist
WHEN
Sunday, April 22nd, 1:30 pm, and Arlington Street Church’s artist in residence, Rodger Vine [about], is known to many for his organ playing on Sunday mornings. He’s also a pianist, though, and in this series of recitals, Rodger will show off his talents in two intimate programs. Repertoire will range widely and include Baroque and Romantic works, piano Rags, song transcriptions, gospel selections, movie themes and Broadway tunes. The performance will finish with a small reception! Don’t miss these lovely afternoon recitals.
WHEN Wednesday, March 28th, 7:00 pm The Drakensberg Boys’ Choir of South Africa is widely considered among the very elite of choral groups from around the world. In March 2007 US audiences in fifteen eastern cities will find out for themselves why no other Boychoir in the world can thrill audiences the way the “Drakies” do with their unique style of diversity. Whether singing classical, rock, pop, jazz, African, or folk, they never fail to bring audiences to their feet. Arlington Street Church is thrilled to welcome back the “Drakies” after their wildly-successful performance here in September 2003. Don’t miss this performanceone of only three in the Northeast.
WHEN Saturday, March 24th, 2:30 pm Soprano Teresa Tam of Arlington Street’s choir is proud to present her graduate voice recital in Arlington Street Church’s historic sanctuary. Come enjoy an afternoon of beautiful and diverse vocal music by Bach, Grieg, Poulenc, and Britten. She will be accompanied by a small baroque chamber ensemble and pianist Jodi Gobel.
WHEN Monday, January 22nd, 7:00 pm Visit the Music@ASC Concert Series for a powerful evening of inspirational folk music featuring internationally acclaimed performer and labor rights activist Joe Jencks. A reception will follow the concert. Joe Jencks is a life-long folksinger, an international touring performer and award-winning songwriter. His career is based as much in ministering to the human spirit as it is in the performance of music. Joe will be joined by local rising stars Michelle Cummings and Matt Meyer! WHEN Sunday, November 19th, 11:00 am Written fewer than ten years after West Side Story, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms are a rollicking setting of several Hebrew psalms for choir, soloists, and chamber ensemble. Bernstein penned this work in 1965 while on a sabbatical from the New York Philharmonic. The psalms are tuneful, full of Berstein’s wild rhythms, and remain popular with choirs around the world. Don’t miss this musical treat presented by Arlington Street Church’s choir!
WHEN Sunday, October 22nd, 2:00 pm Cantores Minores is an extremely competitive choir of boys ages 8 to 21. Since its creation in 1952, this highly trained and acclaimed choir has performed its rigorous classical repertoire for the king of Sweden, the president of Germany, and Pope John Paul II. Arlington Street is the only Boston stop on the 70-person touring choir’s 2006 American tour. This promises to be a rare afternoon you will not want to miss. For more than 35 years, she has traveled to every corner of the country and around the world, singing for peace and justice. From concert halls to rally stages, Holly’s voice gives strength to those in the front lines of struggle. Arlington Street is delighted to welcome United for Justice with Peace and Holly in her first solo Boston concert in years. Space is limited and we expect a full house so order your tickets now!
